I knew a "brother" from another congregation that confessed to an Elder for fornication. The problem was it was the Elder's daughter this "brother" was fornicating with. Neither one of them got DF, but the Elder's daughter was treated as the victim.

Must the Elders Always be Told?
by snugglebunny ini recall that some years ago the wt stated that not all offences need to be reported to the elders, but that confessing serious sins to another person who was not an elder could suffice.
the article stated that this did not include sexual offences and that these must be reported to the elders.. can anyone throw any light on this please?.

I started my first job at 16, and began contributing my own money then. However before I became inactive around 17 or 18, I asked the Elder behind the counter to order me the WT and Bible CD. He refused telling me they aren't free. That day forward I never contributed a penny. It was also another confirmation of the elitist attitude of some Elders.

I thought Federal Judges were appointed. I'm not sure the whole political arrangement. I believe in his position he would be appointed by the Governor? If so, the Governor would want to choose someone that resembles their political viewpoint or is a member of their party. It is similar to the president administration appointments. Political powers use federal judges to "redefine" laws that they can't get pass in Congress, and this is done by appointed judges that closely align with their party.
I wonder if this Judge is listed under a certain party. I would imagine he had to play the game to get that position. His pension payment will be heavily influenced by the last position he held and its salary.

I hope he prays to Jehovah for his apostate attitude. To disobey the commandments of the Princes in the earthly flesh is heinous sin. When they are rapture to heaven, they will learn of his misdeed.
He was here mainly to supplement his ego. In his mind he is important in the WT, with great insight. But in reality he is a mere pawn.

I have to agree with apostate insidetheKH, the JW numbers are conservative compared to what other religions claim as members. JW would only claim active members, and their definition of active is much different than other religions. I know people that claim to be Catholic but never attend Mass, or claim to be Baptist but never attend church. My mother claims to be a JW, but she is not counted. She hasn't done field service in years and rarely attends meetings.

I will be starting a nursing program this August, and I'm 38 years old. I plan on doing a 2 yr PA program several years after the nursing program, and then another 3 yr transition program to MD. I figure I'll be in my late 40s, but that is fine with me.

I've been actively pursuing a career change for quite a few years. I've applied for nursing programs at several local public colleges. The competition is high for this limited access program. There was 450 application and they accepted 80. I was one of them. I'm so appreciative, because the alternative was the private schools, which have a tuition of $50,000 vs the $7000 for the same program at the public colleges.
I'm planning on applying to University of Florida's PA program once I get a few years of experience in the nursing field. There is also another program at a nearby college that transitions PA into a medical doctor program. I know this route is a very long way to become a medical doctor, but I can't afford not to work 7+ years to earn a medical degree. I can still earn income taking the path I currently have planned.
I will resign my management position in May, and gave notice to my employer yesterday. I didn't get any encouragement from them, but instead they mocked me. Several higher management telling me I'm throwing away 20 years with the company. I know I will take a hit in pay and lose a lot of vacation and benefits, but I feel so much happier now. My wife also is applying for a LPN program this year. Anyway, just wanted to share to maybe encourage others to pursue your desires. I'm 38 years old and been with the same company for twenty years. I have two college degrees that are in business and management, so this will be an entirely new path for me. I know very little in the health field, but eager to learn.

Funny story about dumb JW rules
by cookiemaster insome years ago (the year when i got baptized), i was at a district convention (or whatever they call them these days) with my best friend.
he had a part in one of those acting parts at the convention (i have no idea the term jw's use for them in english).
anyway, we were both seeing through the bullshit of the borg but weren't aware at the time of this forum or other "apostate" groups, nor of the full extent of the perversity of this religion.

I was baptized in 1992 at Plant City, Florida. After I was baptized I met up with my JW friend who was an Elder's son. He was given the privilege to guard a door. He needed to use the restroom, and asked me to watch the door. I agreed, but this Elder in charge of security asked me if I was baptize. I informed him I was, and in fact got baptized today. This pious, righteous, and hand pick man of God, told me, "Oh well that's not long enough to have this privilege." That was the beginning of my awakening. Quite funny, the day I began to awake was at age 15 on my baptism.
I began wandering the assembly hall after that incident, and noted so much hypocrisy. One notable example of nepotism and elitism was the room where contributions were counted. Inside this room was the Elders counting the money, but also were the Elders' wives and children. I wasn't allowed in there, being the son an unbeliever. There were four and five years running around, mothers breast feeding, and a nice cliche of the social elites.
I wonder if this behavior still exist? Anyone still active know if these things still go on in the local Halls and Assemblies?
